About Dr. Ambai
Dr. Ambai was raised in metro Atlanta and is proud to serve the Georgia community where he first discovered his passion for pain medicine. After completing college at Emory, he began his journey as a medical assistant and fluoroscopy technician with a local interventional pain group, giving him a hands-on introduction to the field early in his career.
He earned his medical degree from Mercer, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his compassion and excellence in patient care. Dr. Ambai returned to Emory for his anesthesiology residency, serving as chief resident, and went on to complete an elite pain medicine fellowship in New York City. His training included time at ivy-league Weill Cornell, Hospital for Special Surgery—the #1 orthopedic hospital in the world, and the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
With a strong academic background and years of procedural experience, Dr. Ambai is committed to delivering cutting-edge, minimally invasive pain treatments. He specializes in procedures designed to relieve pain without reliance on long-term medications or surgery, including spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation, Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD), interspinous spacers, kyphoplasty, and basivertebral nerve ablation.
Dr. Ambai treats patients like family—he listens carefully, tailors treatments to each individual’s needs, and strives to help them return to the life they enjoy. He is currently welcoming new patients with chronic back, neck, and nerve pain.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ambai enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
