About Shandra Grimes, DNP

Dr. Shandra Grimes started her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1991 and with a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment, climbed the healthcare ladder. Her nursing career started at Southern Union Community College in Opelika, Al where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Diploma in 1995 and followed with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in 1998. Shandra has trained in many areas during her nursing career to include Home Health, Hospice, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Nephrology, Long Term Acute Care to include caring for patients on Ventilators and Wound Vac Therapy, Peritoneal dialysis, and Pain management. Shandra is also certified as an Oncology Nurse with years of nursing management experience. Shandra received her Bachelor of Science Degree at Arkansas Tech University while living in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She continued on with her education by graduating from South University in 2015 earning her Master of Science in Nursing Degree, with accolades Summa cum laude, and earning her Doctoral Degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2020. Nursing is her passion and her calling. She loves caring for people. She also loves to cook. Dr. Shandra Grimes is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Black Nurses Association, and a member of the River Center Oncology Group (RCOG) with certifications in BLS and ACLS.
